ASA
ASA (acrylonitrile styrene acrylate) is a technical thermoplastic closely related to ABS, designed to hold up outdoors.
Why it matters
ASA is the material to consider for parts that sit in sun. Prusa lists high UV resistance and good high-temperature resistance, up to 93 °C, and calls it suitable for outdoor use. That makes it relevant for brackets, covers and holders exposed to strong sunlight.
Printing is similar to ABS. Prusa recommends a nozzle at 260 °C and a heated bed of at least 100 °C. It also warns of significant warping from temperature differences between the part and the air, so an enclosure is recommended.
Like ABS, it can release fumes that Prusa says may be a health risk, so print in a ventilated room.
If you do not have an enclosure, PETG is the easier material for many outdoor jobs, though it handles less heat.
